Fine Points: Snowshoe is a year-round mountain resort comprised of mixeduse condominium buildings atop of Snowshoe Mountain. Each condominium is based on historic architecture from the surrounding area. For Expedition Station, the architect drew inspiration from an old corrugated metal-sided warehouse in a nearby railroad town and a more decorative metal-sided building in Virginia. The condo was designed to appear as a building that had been built and expanded over time. Metal is used horizontally and vertically and framed with fi ber-cement panels.
