Change sometimes can be scary. I didn’t much like it when McDonald’s stopped carrying the McDLT and replaced it with things like the McLean and the Arch Deluxe. I really didn’t like it when they built a new Arnold’s on “Happy Days” and made the Fonz a teacher. Yes, I realize both of these examples are old and both somehow relate to hamburger joints, but I’m writing this just before lunchtime and I could sure go for a burger right now.
Those examples aside, change also can be a good thing. Does anyone miss the days the before roll-behind suitcases? Yeah, I don’t either. I believe the same will be said of this, the new metalmag e-newsletter! It’s light, it’s convenient, and it will fit in the overhead bin.
Our revamped e-newsletter format all is part of a general refresh of metalmag’s online presence. Along with this spiffy-looking, redesigned addition to your inbox, we also recently launched our new website, www.metalmag.com. I encourage you to cruise on by and have a look. It has been designed to complement the print version of our publication, as well as provide a dynamic user experience and fresh content.
Users can search and browse through metalmag’s wealth of exciting content, including innovative project stories, industry news, field techniques and the latest technological advancements the industry has to offer. The new site is intended to provide visitors with an intuitive, easy-to-navigate experience. It was exciting for me to see it come together because even I now feel like I can find much more with much less searching. We hope you’ll feel the same way.
So browse on over and take a look. While on “Happy Days,” the old Arnold’s was clearly much cooler than the new Arnold’s, I think it’s safe to say that in the here and now, the new metalmag online is vastly superior to the old. It’s the result of lots of planning and hard work from the entire metalmag team. And like any project, be it on the jobsite or online, it’s good to stand back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. In my case, I think I’ll celebrate with a nice burger. Too bad it can’t be a McDLT.
